Super-resolution and Confocal Microscopy

Microscopy_IEMR.2019

Our institute is one of the nodes in a core facility for super-resolution and confocal microscopy supported by Helse Sør-Øst. This core facility includes two additional nodes located at Radiumhospitalet (Montebello) and Rikshospitalet (Gaustad).

A core facility is a laboratory with particularly advanced equipment that serves researchers both within and outside the unit.

LOGO_Jebsen_cardiac

K.G. Jebsen Centre for Cardiac Research is directed by Professor Ivar Sjaastad: "Our primary objective is to better understand the mechanisms of heart failure. Specifically, we will identify mechanisms regulating myocardial stiffness, and new therapeutic targets of diastolic dysfunction."

The centre comprises six research groups at University of Oslo; of which three are located at Ullevål Hospital, two at Rikshospitalet and one at Radiumhospitalet.

Group leaders: Ivar Sjaastad (Centre leader), Geir Christensen, (Deputy leader), William E. Louch, Camilla Raiborg, Thor Edvardsen and Lars Gullestad
Associated partners: Alessandro Cataliotti, Llewelyn Roderick (University of Cambridge), Joakim Sundnes (Simula) and Kjetil Taskén
Administrative coordinator: Emil Espe
